Selah is operated by Busy Bee Ventures LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Selah application and related services.
By using Selah, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Your name and email address
- A securely hashed password (if not using Google Sign-In)
- Google account data if you sign in via Google SSO (name, email, profile picture)
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to Selah Premium, we store your Stripe subscription status and plan details. We do not store your credit card number or payment card details — all payment processing is handled securely by Stripe.
Contact Form Submissions
If you reach out through our Contact Us page, we collect your name, email, and message content to respond to your inquiry.
Usage Analytics
We collect aggregated, anonymous usage analytics to improve the app experience. This data does not personally identify you.
What We Do NOT Collect
- Chat conversations stay on your device. Your conversations are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
- No third-party tracking. We do not use third-party analytics trackers, advertising SDKs, or fingerprinting technologies.
- We never sell your data. Your personal information is never sold, rented, or traded to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
How Conversations Work
Selah generates Bible-based responses to help guide your faith journey. All requests are anonymized through our server before being processed — your personal information is never sent to any external service. Your conversation messages are not stored on our servers after a response is generated.
All personal information stored in your account is encrypted at rest.
Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously and employ industry-standard measures:
- Encryption at rest: Sensitive data is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption.
- Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is protected with HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Secure token storage: Authentication tokens are stored using your device’s secure keychain or keystore.
Third-Party Services
Selah integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google Gemini: Processes conversation messages to provide Bible verse recommendations. All requests are anonymized through our server; your personal information is never shared.
- Stripe: Handles payment processing for Premium subscriptions. We do not store your payment card details.
- Google Sign-In: Provides optional single sign-on authentication. We receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
Social Features & Friends
When you use Selah’s social features, friends can see your display name and friend code. Messages exchanged between friends are encrypted to protect your conversations.
You control who you add as friends through the friend code system, and you can remove friends at any time.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Export your data: You can request a copy of your personal data at any time.
- Delete your account: You can delete your account and all associated data from the Settings page.
- Correct your information: You can update your profile information at any time within the app.
Children’s Privacy
Selah is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and notify you through the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
